Kevin Ricks, Sexual Predator

There has been an update.  Today, Kevin Ricks plead guilty to one sex abuse charge in a Prince William County courtroom.   This results in the first conviction in the case.  The former teacher will be sentenced in October 2010.  At sentencing, the judge can follow the sentencing guidelines, but he doesn’t have to.  Ricks could face a maximum of 10 years in prison.  He is also facing federal charges for transporting child pornography.

Ricks, 50, acknowledged that he was guilty of performing sex acts on a 16-year-old boy who had been a student of his at Osbourn High School.  The acts occurred during winter break in a basement room he was renting from the boy’s father.  A Manassas detective testified that Ricks wrote in his journal that he got the boy drunk before the first incident and that the second incident came just days later.

Ricks was a husband and a father.  It seems that Ricks was staying with the child’s father while he was going through a divorce.  I bet you the wife found out about him being gay and a pedophile.  She probably found out that he was a pedophile, filed for divorce and kicked him out.  This is so sad and all too common.

Pretty Killers

I came across this story online.  I could not believe what I was reading when I read it. 

Here’s the scoop. 

The mother, Jarmecca “Nikki” Whitehead, of the two girls, twins Jas and Tas, was murdered back in January of this year.  Her murder went unsolved for close to 6 months.  Her picture is shown at the end of this article.  According to the article, the twins were troubled teenagers. 

Apparently, after an altercation some time ago, the mother sent the twins to live with their great-grandmother.  By all accounts, according to the story, she could no longer handle the rambunctious teens.

While the teens lived with the great-grandmother they were unruly and defiant.   So much so…that the great grandmother was forced to place a deadbolt on her bedroom door to prevent the twins from stealing her items (e.g., money). 

Well, on Friday, the authorities in Conyers, Georgia solved the mystery murder.  They charged the twins with the murder of their own mother.   They will be tried as adults (as they should).

It’s a sad day when anyone loses their life, no doubt.  However, it is really disturbing to see daughters kill their mother.  I have been saying this for years: females have become more and more aggressive over the years.  I wish someone would shed some light on why females, especially young girls, have this level of aggression typically fond in males.

For those of you who have been hiding under a rock lately, Gilbert Arenas pulled a gun on his teammate, Javaris Crittenton, on December 21, 2009.  The argument stemmed from a card game.  Ha!  Of course it did!  What else would two grown men who happen to be millionaire basketball players be arguing about a couple of days before Christmas?

Little boys.

Why can’t these dudes act right?  I mean, seriously?!?!  I don’t even know any grown men who fight over card games.  I REALLY don’t know any millionaires who fight over card games!  Such little boys…sad.

It seems that the police have finally been able to obtain a statement from Michael Brewer.  I presume that the police will interview Michael again in the near future since at this time he is only able say one and two word phrase.

According to the article he still has a long recovery ahead of him.  As for the suspects, well, they are still sitting in jail and are facing 30 years in prison.  The entire situation is just so unfortunate.

They finally arrested and charged the monster that raped and murdered 5 year old Shaniya Davis.  The rapist and killer’s name is Mario McNeil.  He was charged with rape and murder.  The cause of death was homicide by asphyxiation.

Carey Lockhard-Davis, Shaniya’s aunt, was on CBS’ The Early Show expressing her disgust with McNeil and the justice system as she noted that McNeil is/will be treated better than most law abiding citizens.  In prison, he will get free meals and free medical care all paid for by you and me.  After viewing the video of her interview, I couldn’t agree with her more.  The thought is disgusting and it angers me.

Because the crime was committed in North Carolina, Mario McNeil could receive the death penalty.  I hope the justice system works for little Shaniya and that this monster is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The real question, however, is what do we do with a justice system that “coddles criminals,” especially the criminals that commit such heinous crimes as Mario McNeil.

Personally, I agree with the prosecutor. As a teenager, you are aware of the difference between right and wrong. One of the teens was quoted as saying that he made a “bad decision.” You think?

This is just so sad.  This is exactly why the death penalty should exist in every state!

Update:  Little Shaniya Davis was found dead.  Authorities have not released the cause of death.
