Remember the story of the young boy who was set on fire in Florida? Well, he has made some progress. Michael Brewer, 15, is recovering from his burns, which he suffered on 65% of his body, at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital Burn Center. Three teens have been charged and all of them have been charged as adults in this matter. Recently, one of the defendant’s brothers read a statement to the media expressing his deepest sympathies to “Mikey.” I’m not sure if that was well received by the Michael’s family. It’s probably too soon to forgive…I don’t know.
It seems that the police have finally been able to obtain a statement from Michael Brewer. I presume that the police will interview Michael again in the near future since at this time he is only able say one and two word phrase.
According to the article he still has a long recovery ahead of him. As for the suspects, well, they are still sitting in jail and are facing 30 years in prison. The entire situation is just so unfortunate.
