Today, Obama announced that he would be sending more troops to Afghanistan.  There should be an official announcement about his planned military strategy from the White House later this afternoon.  According to reports, his plan is to send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan over the next 6 months.  This will be his second escalation of troops to Afghanistan since taking office last January. 

In my opinion, we don’t need to send more troops to Afghanistan.  It makes no sense.  We aren’t losing the war in Afghanistan as a result of not having enough troops. We are losing because we have become unfocused.  It seems we have forgotten why we entered Afghanistan in the first place.

If you remember, we went to Afghanistan to find Osama Bin Laden and to get rid of the Taliban forces in that region of the world.  Well, we found him.  He’s in Pakistan!!!!  I’m not even the CIA and I know where he is.  Anyway, sending more troops to Afghanistan is going to be so ridiculously expensive that we will never recover from the economic crisis we currently find ourselves in.  I wish the president would rethink his decision.  It makes no sense to me.
